It was a remarkable discovery: two journalists found out that all of the letters written by Italian children to Father Christmas were stored in a room at the Postmaster General's office. Following the publication of the first volume, all of Italy laughed and cried about the spirited and genuine notions, about the dreams and concerns revealed in the children's letters.
