Loriot

Loriot i. e. Vicco von Bülow (1923 – 2011) grew up in Berlin and studied graphic design and painting at the State School of Art in Hamburg. Loriot was one of the first Diogenes authors: his humorous writings in Stern and Quick sparked the enthusiasm of publisher Daniel Keel and his books became Diogenes' first bestsellers. He was the author, director and main cast of Ödipussi and Pappa Ante Portas, two of the most successful comedies of German cinema. He was a member of the Academy of Arts, Berlin and of the Bavarian Academy of Fine Arts.
