Bas Kast, born in Landau in 1973, wanted to become a neuroscientist, but dedicated himself to writing instead. He went to school in Utrecht, Munich and California, studied psychology and biology in Constance and Bochum, as well as with Marvin Minsky at MIT in Boston. His book The Diet Compass was named ›Science Book of the Year 2018‹ by the German magazine bild der wissenschaft. Bas Kast lives with his family in Rottendorf, Bavaria.
